buttoning up the engine bay

getting everything plugged in and fitted the way we want, fuel lines connected now, double checked tight, plugged in all the sensors, put the new 90 on the throttle body, going to have to put a new elbow from the fender to the new 90, fill with coolant, oil, fill trans, double triple check, download tune, try to fire it with the 80lbers and see whats up.

Finished the nitrous kit on the GT and test sprayed

Finally put in many many hours this weekend on the car, saturday and sunday, i actually did everything right on my kit, fused wires running to everything, and relays powering the noids and bottle warmer, window and tps switch combined, automatic shut off for the bottle warmer, nice bottle brackets, filter on the nitrous noid, etc etc.

dont mind the shit in the engine bay, its from the headlight polishing i did threw that spatter all in there and i didnt clean it out yet.

2003 Altima Rear Brake Upgrade for 240sx

Big Boy Brakes - Poor Boy Cost

The 300zx front caliper swap for 240sx's is probably one of the easiest, and most common modification to S chassis car. A bolt on affair for any car with 5 lug hubs, it is one of the best, and ironically, cheapest modifications for 240sx's. However, with the easy front installation, there really has been no simple bolt on (and cheap) solution for the rear brakes of ours cars - until now. Certainly people can argue that using a Z32/R32/33/34 rear setup is the 'best' in their mind, but it's one big pain in in the ass to me, namely due to the fact that it requires new E brake cables, new brackety, and is costly (due to it being inrotor style). There had to be an easy solution to upgrade the rear setup on our cars, and now it's been found: 2001 Altima rotors.

Now before everyone says 'zomg, your not JDM tyte' or 'zomg it still uses a single piston caliper'....hold your horses. 1. JDM tyte is the last thing I could care about. 2. That may be true, but who cares...run a proper pad, and the difference would be negliable at best. After street and track usage, I will attest to this setup making my car have (dare I say) the perfect brake setup for the car (I currerntly have 300zx calipers with 13" Cobra rotors, and a Z31 master cylinder). With just 300zx stuff, you usually end up with 1 of 2 thigs: Either improper balance (with z32 MC) causing back breaks to lock up...or 2: The rear rotors getting wore out in a hurry, trying to do a ton of work with aggressive pads. To combat that, my new setup kills two birds with one stone.

So alas, here is the setup "brake" down:

  1. 2003 Nissan Altima Rotors (makes no difference in trim level if the part store asks...all rear disc 3rd Generation Altimas share the same rotor) (got mine from carquest...any OE setup will work.
  2. Z31 Rear Caliper braket (any year Z31 will work) (I sourced mine used from 300zx forum)
  3. Stock S14 rear calipers (already on my car, but I got new ones anyway as I'm a parts changer like that)

To easy right?!? Such a simple setup that any monkey with half a brain can install.

So anywho, here are some pics. NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED WASHERS BETWEEN THE Z31 BRACKET AND THE S14 HUBS ! I know my pictures have them, but they actually were NOT NEEDED. Using washers spaces the rotor to far out, and it rubs the bracket then. Rubbin's gay.

TDI exhaust

we wanted this TDI to actually sound, and stink, and breathe like a diesel. to blow black smoke, smell like unburnt kerosine, and whistle like a dump truck. So we strait piped the whole exhaust and gutted the stock cat.

Here is the end result
