ran the g8 at island tonight

street car night at island, i ran the car a few times in the heat and humidity, dialed in my launch and ended up with a 12.56 @ 111mph, im really happy with this for the 2000DA and really shitty weather. the car would really rip with a sticky tire and smashing it from a stop, but im really impressed with the 18inch street tire performance.

th400 installed tonight

well, it was time to drop in the pig, trans fits in great with the drop box, that was a big concern, since we just measured and molded that box the way we wanted to, and hoped to god the trans wouldnt hit it. lol.

ryan had pre wired and relayed everything in the cab before he buttoned it up, so all the wires are down below already and just need to be connected, the shifter linkage is working great, need a nut to hold the arm to the trans, and then do some final adjustment when its running, but thats ready to go now too.

all the measurements are in, ryan is dropping off the driveshaft tomorrow at the drive shaft shop, its really fucking close actually, it might need to be lengthened up a little bit. but holy shit its close.

lots of things to finish up with the motor, plugging shit in, intake, piping, rad, pulleys, all little nit picky shit.

hes going to build a crossmember for the trans tomorrow that clears the exhaust, and fuck around.

here are the pics from tonight, im really surprised with how well everything fit, like a glove, easier to install than the 5spd, and i could not believe how light the flexplate and converter were, the flexplate was like 1lb at most and the converter even filled was like 8lbs.

Dyno Tuning the TVS1900 on the G8

451rwhp 420ftlbs to the tires on 5 psi... 85deg outside, humid as balls. averaging 130deg inlet air temps

we stopped there even though we weren't getting any knock because we knew on the street it would probably knock. had about 22deg in it.

so we took it out and started data logging. and it got knock in 3rd and 4th, just a little.

so we took 2 deg out, and now its great, 140inlet air temps beating the balls out of it on the street. and no knock. 2nd gear burnouts off the rev limiter up the street, not a problem.

ill redyno and see what it makes with the street safe tune some other time. but the last pull we made 2deg lower was 442rwhp. lol

this car is a total animal now..

Blower Installed!

well, we started about 7something, and were totally done around 230, pretty quick, forgot to get some extra coolant for the car and the blower once installed so had to run out and get that after everything was done. all in all, extremely pleased with the kit, it looks stock, and performs amazing, my car is so quiet and quick, its a totally different animal.

we loaded a magnacharger tune in hybrid with my other tune, and its nice and safe. till we can get a custom tune in, possibly tonight, we will see, but its totally safe for now.

and now for some installed pics!
