006 phils 71 Nova

well this was a special treat, i love cars like this. 496 big block with a 871 underdriven, tubbed out, etc etc, we had trouble grabbing a good tach signal on this car, not sure if the dyno was being a bitch, or if it was the big wires he was using in the distributor that was giving me trouble getting a reading, eitehr way on the 5th pass we did wheel speed alone that gives us a horsepower number only, and it made 614rwhp after 4 passes beating it up, with that big auto, big rear, and big tires with only 10psi of air in them, pretty sick.

Turbo Nova tuning day!

Well we got Ryans Nova on the dyno today at PSI motorsports for Frank to tune and for everyone to enjoy!

started off nice and slow with 5psi bottom of the wastegate, and 7deg of timing in boost, completely fat the car made 250ish rwhp, then taking some fuel out of it, in the 11.5 average range it made 290rwhp.

frank threw about 5deg of timing at it, and it made 330ish rwhp on 5psi, 12deg timing, wonderful, time for lunch haha.

after a quick lunch at the post, he bumped it to 8psi, and made a quick 400rwhp looking good.

lined right up for 12psi and it made 440rwhp a little fat, so he took some fuel out and made another quick pull and viola, 460rwhp 485ftlbs of tq, with an extremely safe 13deg timing and 11.5-12.0 afr.

sloppy mechanics sub 100 dollar stand alone fuel system

running out of fuel on your stock pump, feeding your big boy spray kit and your motor at the same time. dont want to be hassled with "t'ing" lines and dropping your tank to upgrade fuel pumps etc. Want a flexible easy to install, and cheap 250rwhp worth of fuel to that nitrous kit.

the nice thing about this is, you can put pumpgas in your tank, and racegas in your stand alone for extra insurance, and you wont be wasting the racegas in your tank, only when you are spraying.

we will be taking it to the dyno soon enough to tune it up and see how it fairs.
