Finished, finally

Well, finished up my last few valve adjustment checks, triple checking it since its my first one, and i dont want to have to do this again for a long time. started the adjustment at 6pm when i got home, done triple checking by 7pm, started assembly, about 3 hours later around 10, i had the chain, sprockets installed and adjusted, clutch installed and adjusted, made sure the oil and coolant were still full... installed all the plastics, steering damper, seat man everything. checked the blinker fluid lol! Man everything, fired it up and took it out for a quick rip on the highway, man it feels great to have a bike again.

Probe Dyno day

Making some changes to the probe to get it ready for nopi nationals, the guys at psi motorsports removed the 91mm turbos that were on and installed some y2k 88mm's so they would be legal in Nopi's race class. Matt fabbed up a whole new air to water after cooler and cold side piping for the front end, and they tossed it on the dyno for some shakedown passes before nopi this weekend. Here are some pics and video!

Bike hold ups

Well, i knew it when i first took it apart, and the buckets fell out of the head that i was going to have to play with these in the end... When i first started the bike it had a nice valve tick, i knew right away what it was, and even during assembly i thought, why dont i check the valve clearance before i assemble this.. nah, i wanna get it running asap. Figures. Cyl4 is missing the shim completely, and 2 of my other cyls are a bit tight, so ill get a nice adjustment in. The nice weather is killing me.

Bike Is running!

Put on the oil pan, and tossed in the motor today, filled it with oil, hooked up all the harnesses and clips etc, and fired her up! There is a valve tick in the top end now, i have to check the lash, most likely needs an adjustment, since i let the cups fall out when i took the head off. Gunna try to do it with the motor in, if i cant ill just yank it back out, but it sounds great.

Bike Parts

Here is the bike as it sits, and al its guts all over the table, the new block and the old block, this is where you can see the difference from the 03 block to the 06, the 06 has the reliefs cut in between the bottom of the cyls for the oil squirters to fit, anyway we are gunna machine the 03 block tomorrow, hopefully ill have this pig running by the end of the week.

Numedia april 12th

Took the trans am and the turbo rusty to numedia dragway today, what a beautiful day for drag racing, ryan testing out his new fuel system, wastegate setup, and 28 inch full slick's. Ryan set a new best time at 10.505 @ 131.99mph he even yanked the wheels 2x today, but their 60ft clock wasnt working, im certain they were in the 1.4x range for those times. Donovan was doing pretty good, a couple of high 10s, tieing up his 10.75 run again, he started to have trouble with the noids, also he forgot his hp tunerz software so he couldnt change his shift points wich needed minor changing, also he needs to go slightly lower on his spraying rpm.

Island 4.6.08

Went out to the strip today, pretty good day all in all, corey ran some high 10s, and then broke an axel (yeah like that hasnt happened before) but he was happy with the runs for the day, and no reason not to be. Ryan got an 11.0 in on about 8psi and then went to 13psi and the car got loose about 3/4 track. let out and went 11.0 again, for some reason his fans, wich never had a problem before were blowing fuses, so we went 5 over. and on his last pass he went 10.80 @ 130, not bad for the first day out of the season, the a1000 is also still giving us trouble. Eric went 13.50 at 110mph on his street tires, pretty damn good.

Here are some pics from today, i took 125 so i didnt want to post them all, so here are what i thoght were the best or most entertaining. and the video is finally done.

Nice Saturday drive

changed out the plugs this morning with some NGK's and took out the car to get some more cruise throttle tuning done, we decided to get some flyby video of how the car sounds with the recirculated wastegate and ryan decided to get wacky and do a nice 2nd gear linelock to 3rd gear hellatious smoke show.... i know you'll enjoy.

Got everything all sorted out, from lines, regulators, fuel pumps rails, new altornator bracket, etc etc, threw her on the dyno today to get some tuning done and made it pretty far before quitting with some fouled plugs.
