Don's 4l80e installation

Installing the 4l80e in the firebird was actually pretty easy, and went very smoothly, i guess thats what happens when you buy all the right parts, everything fits! Some minor sledgehammering and cutting and viola! truck transmission in a firebird just like that. The car was out and about a few hours after we started, and everything was working great!

Time and the track will tell if it can handle the big shot that the 4l60e could not handle. We predict the rear will break now haha

Gokart done!

Well not reliably done! but we did have it out for a short ride, the bottom of the motor moves a little and upsets the chain, we are going to make something to stabilize the lower part of the motor and trans to stop the motor from torquing out of place, and throwing the chain. Didnt take many pics, here is what i have.

Truck HID install

Ryan bought a HID kit for the truck, to improve the light over stock and to also test out the kit, and see if he would order the same one for the mustang. Installation went very smooth surprisingly, everything works great! Very clean clear light! If you are intrested the site was, CQ light

gokart project

Started on our little gokart project today, picked up the gokart at coreys house and cleaned her off a bit, cut out all the wiring and rollcage foam, removed the centrifical clutch setup and removed the motor from the fiddy, looks like everything is a go from here... this project is going to be fun for sure!

Cobra stuff

some quick cleanup on the cobra today, removed the drag springs and installed stock fox body springs, the drag springs are made for a solid rear, and the cobra has IRS... ever since corey installed them he hasnt launched as well as he used to and he breaks axels left and right. So swapping back to the stock style springs should hopefully net some good results. Also part of the diff bushings had come alittle loose and was clunking, so some spacers were made and everything was tightly fitted back into place.

Turbo Bike dyno day

Went up to the dyno today to get some WOT tuning done, and make sure i dont blow her up. All went extremely well, considering i only wanted 130whp at anything under 8psi. although i was nervous to go over 6psi. Since i wanted a pump gas reliable tune going. Turbo still smokes a little but im not gunna let that bother me, considering before it was basically a smoke machine. At just 4psi i made 135whp and 57ftlbs, thats a 26whp and 13ftlbs improvement from stock pretty amazing for such low boost, non intercooled, with such a small motor and turbo. Still have some things to play with but overall im very happy with it, gotta clean up the low end, too much fuel down there, swap out the plugs and maybe sometime ill up the boost a little.
